Saket District Court in Delhi remanded to judicial custody Aftab Poonawalla on Saturday, accused of brutally killing his live-in partner Shraddha Walker.

Judge Aviral Shukla, who conducted the video conferencing hearing today, handed down the order for thirteen days of judicial custody.

The judge ruled on November 22 that Poonawalla would remain in police custody for another four days.

Last week, the Court allowed the police to test the accused for narcoanalysis.

After meeting on the dating app Bumble, Poonawalla and Walker entered into a live-in relationship and shifted out of Mumbai to stay in Delhi together.

After a quarrel between the couple in a rented apartment in Mehrauli on May 18, police report that the accused strangled the victim, chopped her body into 35 pieces, stored them in a fridge, and then dumped them in different parts of the city over the following 18 days.

In the Shraddha Walker murder case, the Delhi High Court dismissed a public interest litigation (PIL) petition for the CBI to handle the investigation.
