POSCO CASES RISING IN THE CITY - (PUNE NEWS)

Recently, Pune witnessed two Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) cases in less than 24 hours. 

According to information, in the first instance, in one incident, an 11-year-old girl was molested in an upscale mall in Wanawadi, while in another, a five-year-old girl was sexually exploited by her family members. 

FIRST INCIDENT 

In the first case, a youngster was humiliated when a shop owner inappropriately touched her in a shopping mall. As the girl’s relatives got busy, she was touched by a bad intention by the unknown vendor. Several passersby rushed to help the victim when she raised her voice for help. After the unwelcome event, the victim narrated the entire incident to her mother, who along with the victim identified the accused, who was then handed over to the police.

According to police information, the victim’s father has filed a complaint in this case. 

SECOND CASE

In another disturbing case, a five-year-old was sexually assaulted by her 25-year-old kin in the Loni Kalbhor area. The victim's mother is in Mumbai for work commitments, while her young daughter lives with her maternal aunt in Pune. During her mother's recent visit, she took the child with her for a few days. The woman noticed injury scars near her private parts as she bathed her child. Upon asking her, she named her kin, saying he always does bad things to her. The woman then informed the police about the same and cops then arrested the 25-year-old accused. 

A case has been registered against him at the Loni Kalbhor police station.
